Students raised money for West Suburban Community Pantry by selling hundreds of hand-made ceramic bowls.
Participants selected their bowl of choice to enjoy soup donated by Belgio’s and after making a donation, were able to take their bowl home.
For ceramics teacher Shay Rehs, this was an opportunity to shine a light on both her students and the community. Rehs says, “as far as for these guys in ceramics, for them to be able to take something that they’ve created and that they’ve made, and that creation literally be what’s given to the community, to make that difference is huge for them. Their work, their art, is completely appreciated and valued.”
Last year Naperville North raised $3,000 for the cause. This year they hope to top that by $1,000.
