Do you have a pup that could bring comfort to others?
Edward Hospital is looking for more dogs for its Animal-Assisted Therapy program.
To be considered, the canines must sit and stay on command, enjoy people, get along well with other dogs, be at least a year old, and be up-to-date on all vaccinations, among other criteria.
Since the program began in 2002, participating dogs have made more than 150,000 patient visits to date.
“If you can bring a dog to them and watch them smile and relax a little bit, it’s very rewarding,” said Jane DiCiani, a volunteer with the program.
