In the past the group has performed in several spaces such as the Holiday Inn and the Comedy Shrine in downtown Naperville, but now with the help of several grants Kidz Kabaret is building their own theater. Director Kandiss Hernandez said the new space couldn’t come at a better time.
The new theater will benefit more than just Kidz Kabaret but the community as well. The 175 seat theater will be available to other groups who want to rent it out. To raise money the group is selling star tiles for people who want their own name on the new Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Anyone can purchase a star, even businesses. Mayor Pradel recently visited the site to receive his star. Kidz Kabaret will be having a groundbreaking ceremony Feb 12. and is planning to have the construction finished by this spring.
