Louise Elisabeth Robertson moved to the U.S. a little over a year ago. Troubles getting the proper work permits left her with some extra time on her hands.
“I had this idea of a series of books and so I started off with ‘Woofy Woo Woo: The Artist Dog’ based on some friends of mine in London, and then I started to notice the sights and sounds around Naperville and started writing a book about Naperville,” said Robertson.
Inspired by the monuments of Naperville, and the runners that trek throughout town, Robertson created ‘The Naperville Nodders’ a rhyming children’s book about a group of runners exploring some of Naperville’s landmarks.
“Naperville’s got loads of beautiful sites, the statues are amazing and when I first came here I really enjoyed walking around the town, looking at the different statues and reading the stories of the history of the people that have been here. There was something there to celebrate, so that was my intention, to celebrate what is here,” said Robertson.
An educator and artist, Robertson wrote and illustrated ‘The Naperville Nodders’ herself.
You can get a copy of the book at Andersons Bookshop, Barnes and Nobles’ downtown Naperville location or on Robertson’s website.
