In honor of their 50th anniversary, The Lantern held a block party to remember.
Hundreds of Lantern regulars past and present came to downtown Naperville to help celebrate the milestone.
“Really just to reminisce about downtown Naperville and how much we’ve grown and how much we’ve remained the same as well. You know, a lot of familiar faces today, all ages. I mean kids that I served when they were like a little kid coming behind the bar and getting a tootsie pop after lunch with their parents, they’re now getting carded to get a drink. It’s crazy but it brings everybody together,” said The Lantern’s General Manager, Brenda Dieter.
Today’s party went from noon to 6 p.m., shutting down part of Chicago Avenue with live music, food and fun.
“It’s just been really exciting to see all these people that excited to come together and spend their Sunday afternoon with us,” said Dieter.
The event also raised funds for Operation Support Our Troops.
