Diners recently got a taste of Naperville while supporting a good cause. 450 people went to Tellabs for the ninth annual Cuisine for a Cause benefitting Naperville Cares.
The not-for-profit provides short-term financial support and resources to people in financial crisis.
“Every amount of money will go directly to the programs of Cares, so that will be financial assistance, and also our car donation program,” said Janet Derrick, Executive Director of Naperville Cares. “We take donated cars and give them to families who need transportation.”
Attendees were able to walk around and sample dishes from 25 area restaurants, and try different beers and wines from local vendors. While they ate, guests could bid on silent auction items, and later in the evening there was a live auction as well.
The event raised $135,000 for Naperville Cares.
