While back-to-school prep is well underway, the summer fun isn’t quite over for one neighborhood.
The “Survivor Games” is a tradition started five years ago by local resident, Kristen Kucharski. Kids get the chance to participate in some friendly competition while enjoying the summer sun.
“This is a tradition we’ve been doing for the past five years at our home, and its just kids from the neighborhood from school, all around and its open to everyone. Its wet and wild day today so everyone will be getting wet” said Kristen Kucharski.
More than 50 kids participated in this year’s competition and were divided up into five teams, each making up their own team name and tee shirt.
“I really liked it especially cause its wet, and its really hot” said Katie Braun, a “Survivor Games” participant.
The games featured water balloon races, tug of war, inflatable slip n’ slide and a giant inflatable water slide.
In the end, the “Dancing Moustaches” took home the win in a tiebreaker slip n’ slide relay.
Kucharski plans to continue the games until her kids head off to college.
