Residents searching for employment recently learned about valuable resources right here in the community, thanks to a program at the Lisle Public Library.
The first night of this two part event featured vital information about popular search engines for job inquiries and the best ways to find and apply for jobs online.
“Job seeking can make you feel this big when people don’t respond to your resumes or cover letters. My goal is to give the knowledge to be able to go and do what they want to do; that’s my goal,” said Jen Ohzourk, assistant director of adult services.
Lisle’s Scott Allen is grateful for the help.
“It’s great. It opens a lot of doors and gives you access to resources you didn’t even know were available,” he said, “information is power… it can help you find the job you really want.”
The library has a good track record; past attendees have reported that the tips have worked, and helped them find a new job.
The next program will be centered on a new job and career database. To register, visit www.lislelibrary.org.
