Naperville is a city consistantly ranked as a top place to live. But what about a vacation hot-spot? Where would you go if you spent your spring break within city limits and had a staycation?
One option leaves some participants jumping for joy. Sky High Sports is where attendees can jump and flip to their heart’s desire.
Young or old, this high-energy trampoline park is one place that is sure to get you moving.
“If you can walk, you can jump. It’s great for the whole family, even if it is a mixture of ages,” said Matt Zaucha, Sky High Sports’ Manager.
While some staycations are spent in a man cave, others choose another type of cave: the Himalayan Salt Cave, which is said to help with allergies, stress and exhaustion. Spa goers can also catch up on their Z’s in the Zen Bed.
“The European studies show that 20 minutes on the Zen Bed is the equivalent of getting a full night’s sleep. It’s basically dry hydrotherapy, you feel it for 30 minutes without getting wet,” said Timeless Spa Owner Jody Buckle. “The water temperature is 90-95 degrees, underwater lights are changing colors. Your mind perceives the color change, even with your eyes closed and it just feels awesome.”
If you’re not the type to be pampered, why not donate your time? Volunteers at A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter help with a variety of duties around the shelter, all in the name of puppy love.
“You’re making a difference and you’re helping to socialize animals who don’t necessarily have homes. So rather than sitting at home on the couch, you could be here, helping the animals who are looking for their forever homes,” said volunteer Trente Arens.
If you lack an impressive passport like Shakira, but still want to move your hips like her, maybe you should try belly dancing. This torso-driven dance offers a Middle-Eastern escape, right here in Naperville.
“It’s a little bit exotic, we’re playing traditional music, and it’s definitely a change of pace from your normal range of motion. It’s low impact and I try to make it as much fun as possible,” said Grace Tucker, Instructor at Eastern Fire Belly Dance.
