A new high-end grocer is taking shape near the corner of Ogden and Aurora Avenues.
“tandard Market is under construction and is set to open in Naperville in April.
Though traditional grocery stores are 60% packaged goods, this specialty shop will have 90% perishable products, and “fast, casual dining” inside.
“Naperville’s always had a sort of high-end shopping attitude,” said Christine Jeffries, Executive Director for the Naperville Development Partnership. “[Residents] like great food. They like great service, both in our grocery stores and our restaurants do very, very well.”
The market is expected to employ 15o to 170 people.
Council approved the addition of standard market at this site in fall of 2011.
Phase one of construction is the store itself while phase two will consist of the parking lot and vehicle access.
This will be the store’s second location, with its first in Westmont.
