A local church hosted a “soup-er” event for the bone-chilling cold.
Inside the Wesley United Methodist Church, residents enjoyed a free warm meal during the church’s first ever “Soup Supper.”
Volunteers prepared and served homemade soup and fruit during the event.
“[I] came for some soup and fellowship and everything was just great,” said Naperville resident Lisa Doud.
The supper is the first of several, as the church will continue offering soup on the third Monday of February and March.
And the event is just one of many in the church’s long-standing tradition of addressing hunger locally and nationally. Many of the congregants also donate and volunteer at a number of food pantries, including “Loaves & Fishes.”
