A proposal for a new senior living facility near the corner of Route 59 and 95th Street got unanimous negative reviews from the Planning and Zoning Commission.
A petition went before the commission to request that property at the Naperville Crossings shopping center be changed from commercial use to residential use for the senior housing, which would include a memory care portion.
But the commissioners voted to keep the land as originally intended.
“It just seems odd to be to put housing in the middle of this very vibrant commercial area,” commissioner Robert Williams.
Ultimately the city council has the final say on the matter.
