Competition was in full swing at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, as the ladies ping pong tournament commenced.
Participants faced fierce competition, while still having fun.
After defeating all her opponents, Naperville resident Wei Chen emerged victorious.
“It was good, wonderful time for me,” said Wei Chen.
It was all part of the first ever Naperville Senior Games, organized by the Park District.
“Really an opportunity to offer a number of different events for seniors to be able to come together, have some fun competitions and get out and enjoy some of the activates that we provide,” explained Brad Wilson, Director of Recreation for the Naperville Park District.
Naperville residents over 50 took part in a variety of events including ceramics, trapshooting and swimming.
Winners for first, second and third place all received a medal and a gift certificate to Downtown Naperville.
Next year, the Park District hopes to expand the games to include even more events.
