Governor Quinn has called a special session of the General Assembly to address the state’s $97 billion dollar pension crisis.
In order to tackle the problem, a ten member bi-partisan conference committee has been established.
It will be made up of three democrats and two republicans from each chamber.
House Republican Leader, Tom Cross, has appointed Naperville Representative Darlene Senger to the committee.
If the majority of the committee members can come to an agreement, the plan will go on to the full legislature for a vote.
The governor has set a July 9 deadline for a solution.
