Students at Fischer Middle School gathered to learn some super-science from a pro with a pencil.
Marvel Comics artist Jerry DeCaire, known for his work in Thor, X-Men and Wolverine, showed the students how math and science work together in drawing.
“It’s reliable,” said DeCaire. “It’s replicable, it will tell you where everything’s mapped out, and it won’t let you down.”
The students watched as he used geometry, fractions, algebra, and anatomy to draw a superhero right in front of them!
He then gave the drawings to several students.
“I thought it was cool because I got it signed by him and it was an original picture drawn by him,” said Luke Murray, 6th grader at Fischer.
DeCaire travels all around the country doing these presentations in hopes of encouraging kids to pay more attention during math and let students know they can use these skills to learn to draw.
