Naperville School District 203 is stepping up efforts to promote the acceptance of growing diversity among its schools.
At the latest board meeting, Superintendent Dan Bridges brought everyone up to speed on the district’s diversity committee.
Over the past year, the group of community members, faculty, and administrators has worked on a number of initiatives, including recruitment, teaching practices, training, parent education, and ways to close the achievement gap, among others.
Moving forward, the committee plans to work with the NAACP to educate families that move into the district to better assimilate them into the district’s culture.
