A Naperville woman was recently honored for saving a stranger’s life.
At the latest city council meeting, Chief Mark Puknaitis presented Cheryl DuBois with the Fire Chief’s Citizen Award.
On February 9th DuBois was out shopping with friends and heard cries for help in the Home Goods parking lot on 75th Street.
She found 70-year-old Jan Robbins unconscious and in cardiac arrest. DuBois, who has had no formal CPR training, performed chest compressions until the paramedics arrived.
Robbins was taken to Edward Hospital, where she had a successful triple bypass surgery.
Both were on hand for the award presentation and given a standing ovation by the audience.
