Western DuPage Special Recreation Association teamed up with the Naperville Park District and opened the Santa House early for special needs children and adults.
Santa surprised each visitor by already knowing their names and some gifts they wanted for Christmas: his secret, the Elves told him.
The night wasn’t just a hit for kids, but for parents as well.
“I think the biggest thing is just being able to get out and about. One of the moms mentioned they don’t get to go on vacation a lot, they don’t go out to eat a whole lot, so this is an event that they look forward to every year. It’s not just a really special event for the kids but for the parents as well,” said Brett Lindahl, Sponsorship and Special Events Manager for the Naperville Park District.
WDSRA provided hot chocolate, cookies, and free photos to each of the families.
Santa house is officially open to the public, for hours visit napervilleparks.org/santahouse.
