Naperville kids got a jumpstart on their Halloween celebration.
Hundreds of little ones put on their best costumes and paid a visit to safety town for their annual trick-or-treating event where volunteers – also in costumes – passed out candy and other items like plastic spiders.
Popular outfits this year ranged from super heroes to zoo animals to Disney characters.
Upon entering, Safety Town staff collected canned foods to donate to loaves and fishes community food pantry.
Last year’s fundraiser gathered roughly 1,900 pounds of food and hope and they hope to be on part with that this year.
Besides benefitting Loaves & Fishes, the early trick-or-treating also gives families an opportunity to practice safe ways to enjoy the Halloween tradition together.
