Candy, costumes and creepy fun is what fills the minds of little ones around Halloween. But for the folks at safety town, the holiday is all about having fun while being safe.
Dressed in their favorite costumes, hundreds of kids got a chance to trick or treat early this season.
A safety preparedness talk reminded parents and children how to safely enjoy the spooks that come with Halloween.
“Kids can understand the safety precautions of not eating candy if its opened or going to abandoned houses, having a buddy to go trick or treating with, having a light and taking precautions for safety around this time of year and around Halloween,” said Meredith Sonetz, Safety Town Coordinator.
Kids learned about giving back too, by donating money and non-perishable food items to benefit loaves and fishes.
