At just 13 years old, Ryan Dowd began volunteering, making his commitment to helping end homelessness in the community.
Now, after nine years as Executive Director of Hesed House, he has announced he is leaving the shelter. The organization provides support for people in the area who are battling homelessness.
Dowd shared the news with people at the 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Gala event hosted by Hesed House.
Dowd is expected to leave this summer or fall to pursue his passion for international human rights in Washington D.C.
