The referendum question regarding the way we elect city council will remain on the April ballot.
Appellate Judge Ann B. Jorgensen recently upheld DuPage County Circuit Court Judge Bonnie Wheaton and the Naperville Electoral Board’s decisions to allow a binding referendum on the ballot.
Back in November, Yes at Large submitted a petition that would allow voters to once again decide if they want to keep the way we elect city council members at large instead of changing to districts in 2015.
But Paul Sjordal objected saying it was confusing and illegal and appealed the electoral board’s decision to Wheaton and again to the Appellate Court.
Sjordal is unsure if he will take the case to the Illinois Supreme Court.
