Naperville is home to a rare doughboy statue which commerates World War I.
And coming in October the Navy will be honored as well.
The Spirit of the American Navy will sit next to its doughboy friend.
“There are seven and we have the seventh one,” says w. Brand Bobosky. “We are hoping to collaborate with the city who owns the park and the Park District that maintains it and we’d hope to install it October 13th.“
The statue is even more rare than The Spirit of the American Doughboy and was created by the same artist, E. M. Viquesney.
It will be installed on the navy’s birthday which is October 13th.
