Kids hungry for learning will finally get a taste of knowledge. The S.M.A.R.T. Café recently opened its doors at the DuPage Children’s Museum.
Families can stop by the 60-seat lounge where food gives the opportunity to learn about science, math, art, reading, and technology all while promoting healthy eating. Sue Broad hopes the café opens doors for kids to learn healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
“We have to educate them about food choices and help parents describe food choices, we are also encouraging a little less screen time and much more activity on children’s parts. We really are taking a look at what children need to be healthy,” said Broad.
The café will feature foods free of harmful preservatives and antibiotics as well as gluten–free and organic options, all conservatively priced. The S.M.A.R.T. Café is the first of its kind in Illinois.
