A local group helped our furry friends. The Naperville Area Humane Society held it’s 18th annual Putts for Pets Golf Outing.
More than 140 golfers took to the links at Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville for the Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
They drove, chipped and putted their way on the course to help out the cause.
Those who weren’t confident in their backswing were still able to contribute by taking part in both a silent and live auction with prizes that included golf gear, autographed memorabilia, and adult refreshments to help out cats and dogs in need.
“It covers their veterinary cost, it covers keeping our electricity on and our water running, especially right now in the heat of summer,” Angie Wood, Executive Director of the Naperville Area Humane Society.
Money is still being counted, but the Humane Society hopes to have raised about $60,000.
