The Public Safety Open House featured a re-enactment of a texting and driving while intoxicated accident.
First responders used the Jaws of Life to show how they remove the car from the victim, as opposed to the other way around.
A helicopter landed on the grounds to show how the departments handle a victim in need of immediate medical attention.
Kids were able to get up close and personal with the vehicles used by both departments, including the helicopter, fire trucks and ATV.
“We do this every October for Safety Awareness Month just to show the citizens how we keep Naperville safe,” said coordinator of the event, Julie Smith.
New this year, the departments strutted their stuff on the runway, showing off their work wear to raise money and food donations for Loaves and Fishes.
