After almost 40 years leading Saints Peter and Paul School, principal Frank Glowaty is retiring.
Throughout his tenure, Glowaty has helped keep the school from closing, not once but twice.
He’s also helped garnered three endowment funds totaling nearly $13 million, to be used for capital improvements, teachers salaries, and tuition assistance.
He accepted the job at 29 years old and says now that he’s approaching 70, it’s time to let someone else fill the role.
Saints Peter and Paul currently enrolls 595 students in kindergarten through eighth grades, making it the largest Catholic school in the Diocese of Joliet. In 2012, the U.S. Department of Education recognized the school as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
An internal committee is partnering with a national search firm to look for Glowaty’s replacement.
