The Naperville Police Department recently held a ceremony at city hall promoting six officers.
In front of a packed audience of friends, family and fellow police, three Officers were promoted to Sergeant: Matthew Egan, Jim Sakelakos, and Derek Zook.
Sergeants Jason Arres and Lou Cammiso were promoted to Commander, and Commander Brian Cunningham was promoted to Deputy Chief of Investigations.
“With these promotions our department will take a major step forward in assembling this high performance team,” said Police Chief Robert Marshall. “A leadership team that will operate from a solid set of core values.”
Officers invited a family member to pin on their new badge.
This is the first time since 1992 that six people were promoted at once.
They also swore in Mike Schabert as a Police Services Officer. This is a civilian position to work the front desk.
The promotions were part of a reorganization of the department to better utilize their resources.
