The Naperville Park District recently celebrated the grand reopening of Knoch Park.
The event marked the completed renovation of the south end that began last summer.
The project included renovating the ball fields, building a new playground, picnic shelter, and restroom building, and installing a loop trail.
It was largely funded by an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
“That was a very significant funding mechanism to get this done at a low cost to our taxpayers,” said Mike Reilly, President of the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners.
After the ceremony, Mayor Pradel threw out the first pitch of Naperville Little League’s 60th anniversary season.
