A Naperville mother accused of murdering her own child and a little girl left in her care recently appeared in court.
State’s Attorney Robert Berlin filed a motion for destructive DNA testing of blood found on the sliding glass door and a kitchen drawer at the scene of the crime. Testing for DNA would destroy the samples so they would not be able to be re-tested.
Plackowska’s attorney Michael Mara didn’t object to the motion and Judge Robert G. Kleeman approved the request.
The prosecution also handed over 503 pages of reports to add to the discovery.
Elzbieta Plackowska is charged with ten counts of first-degree murder for the October 30th stabbing deaths of her eight year old son, Justin Plackowski and five year old, Olivia Dworakowski, whom she was babysitting at the time.
The forty year old mother stood in front of the judge as her own mother and sister watched from the gallery. Dworakowski’s mother was also in the courtroom.
Plackowska will be back in court May 10th.
