Nichols Library recently turned into a pizzeria. Twelve local restaurants brought in their best pies for the third annual Pizza Taste-Off.
Hungry teens got a chance to chow down and be the judges in a blind taste test. They then chose winners of best crust, sauce, cheesiest, and best appearance.
So what makes the perfect pizza?
“Good crust, not that much cheese, but a good amount of cheese,” said Danny Borden, age 12
“A lot of cheese, extra cheese, and a thick crust,” said Alexa Haldimann, age 13.
“Not too dry of cheese, plus a good, fluffy crust and a good sauce,” said Jack Brandt, age 12
The grand prize for overall taste went to Jet’s, who met the judges’ criteria. More than 100 kids ate their way through two dozen pizzas at the event.
