It was wags, whiskers and wisdom at the Pets and Kids After School Program.
The six-session class meets once a week at the Naperville Area Humane Society and focuses on teaching kids about proper animal care.
“Kids just have a natural affinity for animals so it’s a natural partnership to do education programs that coincide with animals because they’re excited and they want to do it and they want to learn,” said Anna Payton, Executive Director of the Naperville Area Humane Society.
With topics like animal communication, dog training and veterinary care, kids learn how to be a responsible pet owner, while making a few furry friends.
