Peaceful Protest for Halloween House

The rain didn’t stop 11-year-old Sara Marston and her group of friends from marching in support of a popular Halloween house that has gone dark at the Ashbury Subdivision.

“I wanted to do a march through the neighborhood and I thought that my friends who visited this house would be the best people to come with and help me, so I gathered up some of my friends and we marched through the neighborhood from up there and we marched to his house,” said Sara Marston.

The peaceful demonstration comes after the Ashbury Homeowners Association limited homeowner Nick Thomas, to only be allowed to decorate 50 percent of his yard and exclude any lights following neighbor’s complaints of safety issues.

Marston has also started a petition that has garnered over 10,000 signatures in support of the Halloween display and light show.
