The Rotary Club of Naperville held its Paul Harris Award Luncheon recently honoring citizens of the community.
Rotary Club members and honorees gathered at Mason Sabika to give out the Paul Harris Award. Paul Harris organized and founded the first Rotary Club in 1905. The award recognizes individuals who meet the high professional and personal standards within their community as set forth by the Rotary Club.
Among the honorees this year was former District 203 Board Member and Co-Chair of the N.E.F. Debbie Shipley “I volunteer and its my life and I am so blessed to be able to do that and it is a blessing to be able to have the time to do that and I have a family that supports me greatly this is just an amazing honor and I thank you for that.”
Rob Pullen was also awarded as a community leader, his wife accepted the award on his behalf and thanked the patrons for honoring her late husband “I know that Rob would be greatly surprised and humbled to be receiving this award he would just say he was doing the right thing, which he said often.”
As part of the award a 1,000 dollar donation is made to the Rotary Foundation in the recipients name and will fund the many humanitarian projects in the United States and around the world.
