A local publishing company partnered up with an American classic to create exciting new books for children.
Naperville’s very own Sourcebooks has made a deal with Peanuts Worldwide to create original content available in personalized form as a part of their “Put Me in the Story” series.
These books will be available either as a hard copy or a digital copy via an app and allow parents to add in their child’s name and picture.
“What we wanted to do was to actually find a way to start kids earlier with reading, to attach kids more to books. Because sadly we’re not a nation of readers today but it’s something we’d all like to be. So how do you get kids more connected to books? This is what we’re trying with “Put Me in the Story’,” said Dominique Raccah, Founder and CEO of Sourcebooks.
The deal also allows Sourcebooks to repackage their timeless stories.
“Good Grief, It’s Your Birthday!” and “Cheer Up, Charlie Brown” are currently in the formation process to be released in September of this year.
“We spent a lot of time looking at Peanuts and what Peanuts was really about and who it was for and how do we add our own special touch to it so that you get really excited about seeing these books versus other Peanuts books that have been there,” said Raccah.
Sourcebooks has also announced they are adding Anne Geddes and Hello Kitty stories.
