Open Mosque Day in Naperville

The Islamic Center Of Naperville is reaching out to the community with Open Mosque Day.

During the event, anyone is allowed to visit the mosque, receive a tour, and learn about Islam.

Booths were set up to teach visitors the basics ideologies of Islam and its associated culture, including calligraphy, the hijab, henna tattoos, and Islamic foods.

Visitors also had the opportunity to view and learn about the meanings associated with Islamic prayer.

“We want them to learn what the true teachings of Islam are,” said Shoaib Khadri, President of the Islamic Center of Naperville. “Also, it’s a way to then build bridges, build a community, and build friendships.”

This was the third Open Mosque Day that the Islamic Center of Naperville has hosted.
