North Central College has announced who will be the school’s tenth president.
45-year-old Troy Hammond, a scientist, teacher and entrepreneur, earned his Bachelor of Science from Milligan College near Johnson City, Tennessee and his Ph.D. in experimental atomic physics from MIT.
He and his family moved to Naperville in 2010 when he became the president of BlueStar Energy in Chicago.
Hammond will replace Hal Wilde, who led the college for 21 years. Wilde officially retires on December 31st.
