The week-long event kicked off on September 13 at area venues, including North Central College, Center Stage Theater, and new for 2014, AMC16.
“This year being the 7th year, we changed venues and we are greatly appreciative to the AMC16,” said Glessna Coisson, Founder of Naperville Independent Film Festival.
“We get to educate people on what a film festival is and a lot of people have been to other ones so they were so surprised that the Midwest had something to offer too and our numbers increased greatly because of our venue this year.”
The event closed with a red carpet rollout for their gala award show at Center Stage Theater.
The big winner this year was the romantic comedy “One Small Hitch”, taking home three golden trophies for best feature, best actor – Shane McRae, and best actress Aubrey Dollar.
Henry Barrial won the award for best Director, for his Bronx-set drama, “The House That Jack Built.”
About 180 people attended the final evening of the event.
