Every year, thousands flock to Knoch Park for the bands, ribs, and rides of Ribfest and now, there’s an app for that!
The Naperville Exchange Club has created and launched an app to help Ribfest visitors get the most out of their festival experience.
The free download includes information on the rib vendors, music performances, food and drink locations as well as shuttle and parking information and a map of the Ribfest grounds.
Organizers worked with Lisle based Lextech to design the app, which is available on iTunes.
“So much of our interface with the public is through technology,” said Dan DeBoo, the Chair of Ribfest 2014. “Creating an app was just natural, because that’s what people are inclined to do. You can only print so many programs, and at that point it becomes money not well spent. Everyone’s got an iPhone these days and the app we created right now is most suitable for iPhones and we’ll have the Droid version for next year.”
This year’s festivities kick off at noon in Knoch Park on Thursday, July 3.
