Dr. Ann Rondeau will serve as the sixth president for the College of DuPage. And she’s eager to get started.
“We are going to come out of the accreditation and probation issues not only meeting the standards but setting them for the nation, that’s one thing we want to do and we want to be able to show the good people and the tax payers what they are getting as value – it is a tremendous value here and to assure everyone here that this is a great place and I look forward to being able to be a voice for that,” said Dr. Rondeau.
A message students are already getting behind.
“Obviously as a student we care about our accreditation and getting it back and I feel Dr. Rondeau will hit the ground running and get us where we need to be,” said Lucilama Escamilla, a student representative at the school.
Dr. Rondeau’s extensive 26-year military and educational background made her a standout choice in the College’s national search to fill the position. She also was uniquely qualified, in that she had taken over after a firing before – back in the early 2000’s, at Naval Station Great Lakes.
The board is confident she can reverse the negative effects taxpayers, attendees, and residents feel the past administration left.
I think one of the challenges the institution is facing is a loss of trust, both internally and in the community. Dr. Rondeau’s record of integrity and excellence is really going to help restore that trust and I think her governing policy of covenant leadership that relies on every member of our colleges community is achieving their fullest potential has been very inspirational to those on campus and I couldn’t ask for anything more,” said Board Member, Dianne Mizzochi.
Dr. Rondeau’s first day will be July 1st.
