People of all ages will soon be able to have fun and learn at the new recreation center.
The Naperville Park District is renting out the Fry Property Building on 95th Street to give people in South Naperville an indoor activity space closer to home.
The facility will include classrooms, a culinary teaching kitchen, a lounge, multi-purpose rooms, and a customer service desk.
Originally used by District 204 and the College of Dupage, the building will be renovated before opening.
A three-year lease was signed for the center with user fees covering most of the costs
“We really see this as an opportunity to provide more convenient access to many of the programs that we currently offer, as well as new programs that we will be able to offer with the new spaces that are part of this building,” said Brad Wilson, the Director of Recreation at the Naperville Park District.
The Park District plans to have dance classes, arts and crafts, wellness programs, and more for the community.
Activities will be offered in the new facility starting this winter.
