After a nationwide search the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has hired an executive director.
Arnold Biondo will assume leadership January 13.
The 60-year-old has served as the executive director for the Carol Stream Park District since 1995. During his time there the park district earned two national gold metal awards for excellence.
There were more than 110 applicants from states across the country with two finalists interviewed by the Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners.
Biondo was given a three-year contract and will take home $188,000 a year.
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns and managers 25,000 acres of trails, prairies, woodlands and wetlands.
