Going to a new school can be scary for little ones but one local school is trying to make the transition a little easier.
Steeple Run Elementary School welcomed new families while current families played tour guide, showing them around the classrooms, hallways, library and gymnasium that doubles as a lunchroom.
“It just helps to build the comfort level for all the kids, all the parents,” said Karen Currier, Steeple Run’s Principal. “It helps them to get to know our school. They can ask personal questions. It gives them that foundation for coming to school on that first day. They’re going to be a lot more relaxed if they’ve come to this event.”
Steeple Run is expecting at least 35 new students this year and is excited to have them for their first day on August 21st.
