The City of Naperville recently announced that Marcie Schatz will be the new Deputy City Manager. Schatz has been with the city since 1995 and became the Transportation, Engineering and Development (TED) Director in 2004.
“We are a service organization and the customer is at the center of everything we do,” said Schatz. “So I think that goes whether you’re in TED or working in any department overall in the city. And on the other side is that all the departments in the city are inner connected and we really need each other to work together to provide the best service to our customers.”
She is replacing former Assistant City Manager Robert Marshall, who accepted the Chief of Police position back in May. The city changed the name of the position due to a shift from administration to operational departments.
Under the Deputy City Manager position, Schatz will oversee the electric and water departments, department of public works, and community relations. She starts her new position on August 20th.
