Naperville Central High School recently honored four distinguished alumni.
Jack Shiffler, from the class of ‘63, has been a fixture in the Naperville community for many years. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., serving in Vietnam. He currently works with the Naperville VFW post to assist veterans and current military families.
Class of ‘74 grad, Sandy Jo MacArthur is a 24-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department where she is currently the second highest ranked assistant chief.
MacArthur also teaches at Cal State University and was awarded the Secretary of Defense Patriotic Employer Award for her contributions to national security.
Writer, Stephanie Hemphill, graduated in ‘91 and went on to earn the Michael J. Printz award for her writing. Her latest book, “Wicked Girls” has received five star reviews.
And Darin Edward-Wesley Johnson, from the class of ’93, is the current Chief of Staff to the U.S. Coordinate for the Middle East Transitions at the U.S. State Department.
This is the 18th year Naperville Central has honored outstanding alumni.
