Nature Art Week in Naperville

The Naperville Park District celebrates trees with this year’s Nature Art Week.

From August 6 to 14 the group highlighted trees and what they do for us – hosting tree-related events and activities including arts-and-crafts projects and leaf rubbings.

The Park District also had an art exhibit, ‘See the Forest (For the Trees)’, installed at Knoch Knolls Park.

“We see woods, forests, and trees all the time and we just kind of take that for granted,” said Angelique Harshman, Nature Center Manager of the Naperville Park District. “So it’s time to think about all the different things that trees give us.”

The exhibit was created by Jenny Kendler, an environmental artist who tries to create awareness about nature and environmental issues, a perfect fit for Nature Art Week.
