Fry Elementary recently put fitness first.
Not even the rain could stop Fry Elementary students from participating in International Walk to School Day.
Dozens of kids grade K through five grabbed their umbrellas and made the march with friends and family.
The school mascot, Freddy, and the principal were out to welcome the students as they trotted inside.
“Our students just well being and health is really important to us and just fitness overall is something we really strive for. We are blessed to have a community here where most of our families live within walking distance, so actually every day is walk to school day at Fry because we have so many families that enjoy that time together.” said Dave Younce, Principal of Fry Elementary.
International Walk to School Day was started in 1997 as a way to instill healthy habits and cleaner environmental practices in kids all over the country.
