In honor of National Public Gardens Day on May 10 Cantigny Park provided free tours to visitors throughout their gardens.
The tours, lead by the head of the Horticulture staff, included information about flowers, the history of the gardens, and why public gardens are important.
“Public gardens are very important to our communities because they provide green space for people to enjoy,” said Joy Kaminsky, the Director of Horticulture for Cantigny. “But also to learn about nature and to connect with nature.”
Cantigny is renown for their 22 gardens on 29 acres of land.
As part of the national event, participating gardens offered free admission all day.
