Naperville took part in national night out, promoting safety in the community and camaraderie between neighbors.
Police officers and firemen showed off their trucks and handed out treats to kids while informing them about neighborhood safety.
“I saw magnificent things, and came by to see fire trucks and police cars,” Joseph Balgro, a High Meadow resident said.
A magician performed tricks for kids outside of Community United Methodist Church, which has taken part in the night out event for the past five years.
“We always try to organize wit the city and get involved but its nice to see them off the clock a little bit,” said Steve Grosskopf of Community United Methodist Church.
The event was part of a nation wide night out that started in 1984 as a night out to prevent crime in communities.
