One in five kids across Northern Illinois are at risk of hunger. To help bring awareness to this struggle – residents rose at the crack-of-dawn in a show of support.
Representatives from Loaves and Fishes Community Pantry and Northern Illinois Food Bank gathered together at 6 a.m. on September 4, all sporting the same color, for National Hunger Action Day.
We need to make America more aware of the children that go hungry tonight,” said Rick Wagner, Volunteer.
During the month of September, which is National Action Hunger month, Naperville will have food donation drop-off sites at Country Curtains, Naperville General Store, Egg Harbor, and Launch Digital Media.
Residents can also stop by 315 S. Main Street on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon for those who would like to learn more about local hunger.
